We teach violin, viola, and cello to young Suzuki students, transfer students, and older beginners — through experienced, passionate teachers, group classes that expand repertoire and build confidence, and masterclasses with regionally and nationally known artists. Students typically start around age 4.
Lessons are available in 30, 45, 60, and 90-minute lengths, and happen in the same building as Sam's Strings Violin Shop — so strings, repairs, and adjustments are never more than a few steps away.
Private lessons start at $45 for 30 minutes. Group classes start at $30. Rates vary by teacher.

Semester enrollment. Students commit to a full semester. Fall students are automatically re-enrolled for spring unless you give notice, which reserves your child's lesson time for the school year. Lesson days, holidays, and vacations are on the school calendar. Summer is more flexible, as we know families and teachers travel.
Your time is reserved. You'll receive a reminder 24 hours before each lesson. Your slot is held exclusively for you.
Registration and payment. New families pay a one-time $35 annual registration fee. Two payment options are available — full semester payment or a payment plan. Contact the office and we'll set it up.
Absences and make-ups. One make-up per semester is guaranteed for illness or absences with at least 24 hours' notice. For school conflicts with two or more weeks' notice, the office will try to swap your time with another student. Family emergencies are handled case by case — compassion comes first.
Group classes are where repertoire grows and confidence blossoms. Parents are welcome at all group classes; for Suzuki group classes, parental attendance is required.
Performing is essential to learning — it's what music is fundamentally about: sharing with others. We expect every student to perform, and we promise to prepare every student so thoroughly that performing feels exciting rather than frightening.
Suzuki training rests on a three-way partnership: teacher, parent, and child. The teacher instructs at the lesson, the parent coaches at home, the child plays. For young students, a parent attends every lesson, takes notes, and runs daily home practice. No musical background required — just attentiveness at the lesson and consistency at home.
Our motto is excellence through thoughtful repetition, and the expectation is simple: match daily practice to lesson length. A 30-minute lesson means about 30 minutes of practice each day.
Daily listening to recordings of current and upcoming pieces isn't optional extra credit — it's how students internalize tone, intonation, and phrasing before their fingers ever attempt a piece.
