Melissa Escobar - Violin/Viola

Born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Mexico, Melissa Escobar brings an international perspective to her flourishing career as a violist and an educator. As a performer, Melissa has showcased her talents across a range of ensembles, from symphonic orchestras to opera settings such as Fort Collins Opera, Boulder Symphony, and Denver Philharmonic. Dedicated to sharing her passion for music, Melissa's students consistently excel in competitions, earned spots at summer music festivals, and secured scholarships. Furthermore, Melissa has contributed as a chamber instructor at esteemed institutions like the Montecito International Music Festival and the Virtuosi of Houston Youth Orchestra. Melissa’s teaching expertise extends in violin and viola, her unwavering commitment lies in nurturing each student’s musicality while honing their technique, fostering comprehension, and facilitating progress. 


Melissa received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Houston under the tutelage of Wayne Brooks and Master of Music at the University of Denver under Basil Vendryes.
