We are excited to announce our return to in-person learning on May 2nd, 2021!

 Paganini School of Music
Covid-19 Re-entry Update
In-Person (with Strict PPE Guidelines) or Online Private Lessons

Before leaving home:

Parents should take their own and their child’s temperature before leaving the house. Normal temps should range between 97 and 99. Do not come to the school if you or your child’s temperature is greater than this. Your teacher will be more than happy to teach you via Zoom or Skype that day. Other symptoms that would preclude you from coming to the school:

Runny nose
Persistent cough
Sore throat
Diarrhea

Entering the building:

1. One parent per student. No additional siblings.

2. Limited Building Use:  Families must wait in their cars until 5 minutes before their lessons and must leave immediately after their lessons. Social interactions with other families have to take place outside of the building.

3. Families will enter the building and wait in the Paganini Parlor for their private teacher. When their teacher calls the student, the teacher will take the child and parent's temperatures and sanitize their hands before entering the teacher's room. We ask that parents of older children (8 and up) wait in their car to help us minimize the number of people in the facility after their child enters their lesson. (Facetime is also a possibility for parents wanting to watch in from their car.)

4. PPE must be worn at all times inside the building.

Other:

If a student lives in the same household with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19:

  1. Immediately notify Paganini School administration: info@paganinischool.com or call: 281-769-3609 for protocol on returning to campus. We will schedule remote lessons if the student is well enough to learn!
  2. Please be considerate of your fellow Paganini families and staff. If you or someone in your household has been exposed or potentially exposed to COVID-19, please contact school admin to schedule a remote lesson during your regularly scheduled lesson time.

Continued Vigilance and Awareness:

We will keep an eye on best practices for our student and teacher population, to make sure we are doing everything we can to provide a safe and enjoyable learning environment. It is our hope that we will be able to move in the continued direction of relaxation of COVID-19 safety protocols and will announce them as they make sense.

Thank you for everyone's patience and understanding as we return to a new "normal" for music instruction at the Paganini School of Music.

Sincerely,

Sam Matthews, director

COVID-19 - Update for the Fall Semester

7/25/20

COVID-19 Update (3/12/20)

As you are all aware, the spread of COVID-19 continues to grow as a significant public health concern across the world - Today, the World Health Organization announced COVID-19 as a global pandemic - That concern is now also coming to the Houston area: Rice University closed its campus this past Monday, the Houston Rodeo was shut down today, and the University of Houston announced today that they will be closed next week following Spring Break.

It is with this very serious consideration in mind, that effective Sunday, March 15, 2020 until at least March 28th, 2020:

  • All Paganini School private lessons will be moved online. Your lesson time will remain the same, but will take place over Skype. For technical help with setting up a Skype account, and using it, please start here. Should you need further assistance, please contact us at: info@paganinischool or call: 281-769-3609. Once you have a Skype account set up, please send us your address, so we can send that to your teacher. Your teacher will instigate the lesson by calling your account at your scheduled lesson time.
  • All Paganini School group classes and ensemble rehearsals, recitals, and public performances are suspended, pending a return later this semester. Any missed group classes will be made up at the end of the semester or in the summer. I have a few creative ideas which I am considering for home performance projects - TBA
